Bletchley Park, once Britain’s wartime codebreaking centre, is now recognised as a site of international heritage significance. The Trust sought to create a sustainable visitor attraction that would celebrate its history while securing the long-term future of its fragile buildings and collections.
Our Role
We were appointed to prepare a Masterplan that balanced conservation with modern visitor needs. Central to our work was consultation with stakeholders including staff, volunteers and trustees, ensuring plans reflected shared priorities. We reviewed visitor flow, facilities for families and schools, revenue diversification and the need for targeted restoration, producing a commercially grounded strategy with broad support.
Outcomes
The final Masterplan provided a clear route towards growth and financial resilience. It recommended investment in welcome facilities, signage and catering, spreading visitors more evenly across the site and enhancing digital engagement. The strategy gave the Trust confidence that Bletchley Park could retain authenticity while also delivering a sustainable, world-class experience for future generations.
